Where We Are At Fullerton, California
Community centers are two of our initiatives. The Gem District and Maple are neighborhoods that are predominately Latino and low income. We partner with the City of Fullerton in providing programs that will holistically transform these neighborhoods. We are not here to sell religion but rather live ours out by loving and caring for our neighbors.
The Gem District at the Garnet Community Center and the Maple Community Center at Lemon Park are both located in Fullerton California. Most of our neighbors are of Mexican heritage and primarily speak Spanish. We also have people from other Latin American countries such as Peru, Guatemala and El Salvador as well as people of Asian and African descent. We are privileged to experience the food and culture of Latin America through our relationships at both centers.
Sao Paulo, Brazil
Within the next year, Solidarity will also be going international. We will be sending staff member Tim Anderson to Sao Paulo, Brazil to partner with an organization called ABBA. He will be building relationships with street children. This includes opening a halfway house for the children in the city’s center and transitioning them into houses on the outskirts of Sao Paulo. ABBA cares for the children and tries to reunite them with their families. If they are unable to reconnect the child with their family ABBA finds Christian homes for them to live in. We are very excited for this venture. If you are interested in partnering with this project, please contact us.
