Education: B.A. Inter-Cultural Studies Hometown: Baytown, Texas (aka: The Dirty Bay) Family: Mother, Father, and “4 crazy, wild, brothers!” Hobbies: Fishing, Snowboarding, Outdoors stuff, Music, Art, Pig training. Job Title: Teen Center director/ Solid House director. How did you come to Solidarity? I heard about the Solidarity Crew from my brother who, at the time was attending Hope International University. When I moved to Southern California from the Nation of Texas I had the opportunity to come check it out and Volunteer. A few years of volunteering led to a paid position, and the rest is history. What is your role at Solidarity? As the Teen Center director I have the opportunity to hang out with, and get to know the teens in the neighborhood. I help to structure and plan all of the activities that are available for the Teens, such as Hang-out time, Homework help, workshops, activities, and outings. As the Solid House Director I have the amazing opportunity to share life with 6 elementary- middle school age boys. Through this ongoing friendship/ mentorship we are able to teach and practice the truth of Christ’s love while learning life skills, and developing interests and talents. What is the best part of your role? I love being able to follow Christ within a community of my closest friends. Because of this there is no separation between work, ministry, and “normal” day life. It is all simply Life. Fun Stuff: Fav. Movie? The Usual Suspects What reality tv show would you be on and why? Do the words reality and T.V. even belong in the same sentence? (The only exception being Les Stroud of Survivorman. The guy is Legit.) Favorite place you have been and why? Sosua, Dominican Republic because Bethany and I got to: explore the city on moped scooter, swim and cliff jump the Caribbean and eat the best chicken we have ever eaten. Where is the next place you would like to go? 1. The Galapagos Islands. 2. Australia What makes you laugh/cry? Laugh: The Notorious P.I.G, slapstick comedy. Cry: Breaking a nail. |
