After School Program

The After School Program exists to build solid relationships with the kids of the neighborhood by providing help with
their homework and overall educational progress ultimately leading to the enrichment of the lives of the kids and
their families.  In our summer months, our Summer Program gives kids a place to be kids in a safe environment through
various creative workshops and activities.  It also provides an opportunity for our kids to participate in outings including
local beaches, Knott’s Berry Farm, and the Discovery Science Center, and to build personal relationships with our volunteers and staff outside of the normal homework environment.

A.S.P.’s Future:
•    Implement  Mentoring Program
•    Service projects for students
•    Collaboration with local schools
•    Beginning college preparation

Teen Center

The Teen Center exists to provide a place where solid relationships can be developed between teens and     volunteers through spending time together, helping with homework and ultimately through the formation of mentoring groups, through which transformation can happen.  The teens in the neighborhood participate in enrichment workshops that allow them to experience activities that have never been previously available, such as rock climbing, French cuisine cooking, etc.  Most importantly, this safe environment is a positive alternative to the local gang  and drug influence in the neighborhood.

Teen Center’s Future:
•    Filter majority of the Teen Center participants into small discipleship groups
•    Open new enriching workshops
•    Decrease the amount of gang activity in the neighborhood
•    Establish a college/career counseling program

Gente Inteligente

The goal of the Gente Inteligente program is to build relationships with kids and their families through providing enrichment learning experiences and tutorial support.  Kids come twice a week to work on their reading, writing, and math skills through a variety of independent learning centers and activities.  Volunteers lovingly invest in the children's character and academic development.  The program incorporates monthly outings to the library and other educational venues.

Gente Inteligente’s Future:
•    Hire 20 hr/wk part time G.I. director
•    Empower local teens to mentor G.I.’s elementary-aged students
•    Create networking paths with local government on the city level for student enrichment
•    Expand G.I. to other community centers in Fullerton

Solid House

The Solid House program exists to create a family-like     atmosphere in a neighborhood apartment for a specific
group of at-risk boys in which life-lessons are taught and practiced through: the preparing and sharing of meals, character building, crafts, and outings. The six boys involved all come from “at-risk” families and through this program, have managed to stay out of similar situations their family members have encountered.  Some of the greatest experiences these boys have shared are the result of the field trips outside of the community.

The Outreach and Community Development program exists to help the community organize itself through asset
based community development.  Through the formation and cultivation of our Community Committee, Solidarity develops leaders within the community so they can take the initiative to find resources to solve their community problems.  These acts of love will penetrate the community by providing emotional, physical, and financial resources for their needs.

Community Development’s Future:

•    Develop a self sustaining Community Development fund
•    Improve Distribution Center’s resources
•    Establish social enterprises
•    Empower local community leaders to become positive voice in the City of Fullerton
