I went to Hope International University and I studied Intercultural Studies. I grew up in Long Beach, California with my loud and crazy family that consists of my loving parents, one older brother, one little brother and one little sister. I married my incredible husband, Matt, in December, 2009 and it has been a wild ride ever since! We moved into the Garnet Neighborhood and in July, 2010, we welcomed out foster son, Marlon, into our home and family. I am truly blessed with the most amazing family a girl could ask for.
While studying at Hope, I consistently heard about Solidarity and it always sounded interesting. In August, 2005, after being invited by a friend, I agreed to help out with Solidarity’s annual trip to Knott’s Berry Farm. In my group was an attitude-filled 7th grader named Ana. By about lunch time, I knew God was calling me to be a part of Ana’s life and the lives of other girls from the neighborhood. I guess you can say, the rest is history.
What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is Friday Night Lights. I often find myself referring to the characters by their first name as if they were real. I also enjoy Community, Modern Family, The Amazing Race, and Parenthood.
What has Solidarity helped you discover about yourself? Solidarity has given me a place to live out who God has created me to be. Being a part of Solidarity has not only helped me to discover my niche in the Kingdom, but it has provided me with an amazing community to learn and grow from.
What type of emotion is Solidarity? Peace.
Describe Solidarity as “church”: Solidarity is a church body that is constantly trying to move each other closer to God.
